Jonathan Kornberg is the director of Instructional Technology at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) in NYC. He is responsible for all classroom, events and instructional technology in eight buildings on campus. He has introduced new technologies, and is in charge of classroom coordination, AV support, technology support/updates, infrastructure planning and installation, interfacing with facilities, builders, AV vendors and installers, faculty, staff and students. Kornberg has developed best practices for deploying and creating a unified open and closed environment within the context of technology and pedagogy. He has overcome challenges internally and externally with deployed technology to create a unified environment, inside and outside the classroom within the context of higher ed platforms, educational web, mobile and video streaming, classrooms, huddle spaces, flipped classrooms and distance learning. Some recent projects include enterprise wide strategic management and technology, and full upgrades from analog to Digital Media (DM) infrastructure with a full version of AV over IP solutions in existing spaces.
