Terry Vahey is Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for IT Services at San José State University accountable for technology architecture and standards, IT service management, project portfolio management, and professional development. She provides strategic and vision leadership for IT services to the campus community and leads the campus IT operations for infrastructure and telecommunications, enterprise application development and support for Help Desk, applications, and desktops. Prior to joining San Jose State in 2012, Terry held senior IT leadership roles in the California State University system. As Information Security Officer and Director of Technology Services she led the development, implementation, and adoption of technology architecture and standards. Vahey was recognized by Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo as a recipient of the Cal Poly Outstanding Staff Award, May 2010. Terry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco and a Master’s degree in Administration from California State University, Bakersfield. She holds two information systems certifications: CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional, from ISC2 CRISC: Certified Risk and Information Systems Control, from the ISACA organization.
