Emma Chiappetta teaches mathematics at Wasatch Academy in Central Utah. In her classroom, Emma focuses on educating each student individually by facilitating a competency based curriculum and emphasizing the use of authentic assessments like projects and challenging math tasks. For her efforts, Emma was awarded “K-12 Teacher of the Year” in Utah in 2017. Emma also serves as the Director of Faculty Development at Wasatch, working with teachers to improve their curricular alignment and integrate more authentic assessments. She has shared her experiences in the classroom through frequent contributions to Edutopia and in her recent book, “Creating Curious Classrooms.”
