Loren Campbell has served in a variety of positions throughout the educational system as a teacher, facilitator, assistant principal, principal and central office employee while also spending time working with Teach for America. During his time as a school leader, he utilized data informed instruction to support turnaround efforts in multiple schools. As the assistant principal at Nations Ford Elementary in Charlotte, NC, he worked to improve the school’s overall performance grade by exceeding state expectations three years in a row (from an F to a C rated school) while being featured in Driven by Data 2.0 by Paul Bambrick-Santoyo. As the principal of Piney Grove Elementary, Loren utilized the same techniques to turnaround the school from a D to a C in eight months removing the school from the low performing list. He’s spent the majority of his career working in low-income, high poverty schools across the country. He currently serves as a Data Use for School Improvement Specialist in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools working with school leaders in their efforts to improve educational outcomes for the students and communities in which they serve.
