The new range of Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters includes mini and rack-mount models designed to integrate SDI equipment into 2110 IP broadcast systems for users in broadcast, live production and AV. One of the biggest problems with SMPTE-2110 is needing an IT tech on standby to keep video systems running. Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters solve this problem because they can connect point to point, so users don't need to use a complex Ethernet switch if they don't want to. Users get the advantage of SMPTE-2110 IP video with simple Ethernet cables, remote power and bidirectional video. When working in larger SMPTE-2110 systems, users can connect all their video gear to an Ethernet switch by plugging everything into the switch and connecting the devices by configuring the Ethernet switch. It works like a large video router as all connections are made between the SMPTE-2110 devices. All Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters support the NMOS interface specifications, so all 2110 IP video devices can operate together as a large virtual router. Videohub Smart Control can route sources to destinations on 2110 IP networks because it can act as an NMOS controller. It's more complex to configure but is totally flexible.

Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters are designed to support the highest quality video. 10-bit is the most used television standard as colors can be represented with four times the precision of 8-bit video. Only working with 10-bit video will ensure all images are a perfect pixel-for-pixel transmission of the original SDI source, so users are always working at the absolute highest quality possible. By using 10G Ethernet, Blackmagic SMPTE-2110 IP video products can be smaller, lower power and more affordable. 10G Ethernet can also allow products to be remote powered. However, when using Ultra HD above 30fps, there is not enough bandwidth for uncompressed 10-bit video. The Blackmagic IP10 codec solves this problem. Blackmagic Replay is a new way of creating live action replays, using Blackmagic Design HyperDecks to record into shared storage, with DaVinci Resolve connected to the same shared storage as a powerful playback engine. The efficacy comes from having DaVinci Resolve handle the playback because it’s a powerful editor with multi-user collaboration features, along with color correction, visual effects and audio post production. Now users don't need to throw away a replay after it’s aired because replays can be converted into promos, title sequences and instant social media updates. Blackmagic Replay is more powerful than a traditional replay system because it’s built into DaVinci Resolve, so replay operators can load exciting camera angles into the timeline to edit, color correct and add visual effects. DaVinci Resolve lets operators do replay in a few simple steps. Replay operators scroll back a little, select a camera and users are ready to play by pressing the run button. Building a high-end replay system is easy as it's storage-centric, letting users customize as many channels as needed by adding extra HyperDeck recorders, and they can build a replay system in HD, Ultra HD or 8K. More than one DaVinci Resolve system can be added for collaborating globally using Blackmagic Cloud shared projects. Anything done on one system will automatically update on the others. One reason DaVinci Resolve can be used for replay is it can edit media files even while those files are still being recorded on disk. The viewer will automatically advance as the files grow in length, so users can scroll forward and get to the latest media being recorded. It updates quickly and users can get to media recorded less than a second ago. Shot sequencing allows operators to play multiple camera angles during the same replay, as the single DaVinci Resolve system handles complex replays. When playing the first camera angle to air using the run button, the view switches to a multi-view, even though the video output is the selected camera. Operators can review the other angles while playing the first. Then press a time key and second cam button and the playback will jump back to that timed number of seconds before the POI and keep playing - even with transitions, and it’s all live
