Mark McCleary is Chief Technology Officer at Lucas Systems, leading all technology research and product development. During Mark’s career, his proven management and execution skills have translated to key results, including the development of several notable products exceeding $100M in revenue, the growth of new business lines, and the development of several key technology differentiators.
Prior to joining Lucas, Mark was a senior engineering executive in the self-driving industry with Uber ATG and Aurora Innovation. In these roles, he led the design and development of autonomous passenger cars and trucks, with responsibility for safety-critical system architecture, autonomous behavior design, hardware and sensor system design, embedded software development, verification and validation, and vehicle integration.
Mark also previously served as a senior engineering executive in the Aerospace & Defense industry with L3Harris Technologies. He has broad multi-functional engineering experience in complex space, airborne, and ground tactical technology development for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. While at L3Harris, Mark led Systems Engineering, Integration and Test for the Space and Airborne Systems Segment, engineering & technology development for the Electronic Warfare business, and over a decade as a Software Engineering leader.
Mark graduated from the University of South Alabama with a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science. His graduate research focused on utilizing voice recognition as an assistive technology to enable software development for people with disabilities. Mark is also a graduate of the Executive Development Program at The University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School. He is a Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
